A gritty, realistic portrayal of war and its casualties. In 1968, After stopping a team of North Korean assassins, South Koreans decided to form their own group of assassins, straight from the dregs of society. The mission, to kill Kim Il-Sung, the then North Korean leader. These men endured the hellish training. However, the changes in political climate and the detente between North and South Korea made these men a liability - their government turned them into killers, then abandoned them.
